A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.

The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
